Female Characters Who Kept The Grace of Trench Coat Alive!

Trench Coat is blessed with a British origin and is a symbol of luxe and power. Brands like Burberry are solely built on the idea of providing a slice of the British culture with their premium trench coat collection.

Popular Culture has found itself deep in this trend too. Not only do we see a variety in terms of colour, but the shows also indulge in developing variants of this coat with contemporary designs. The coat has also witnessed moments of female supremacy and power. Therefore, I bring to you five popular characters, who have effortlessly pulled off a trench coat look:

Jessica Pearson In Suits

The boss lady of Suits is known for her impeccable dressing style. Jessica Pearson has been a prominent character in the show and her outfits are carefully curated to serve the image. The trench coat presented in the image is unique because of the fur extensions. They add volume to the sleeves and give out an over-the-top effect. The colour is basic so that it doesn't divert the attention from the extensions. This can be a wonderful inspiration to amp up your basic trench coats.

Fallon Carrington In Dynasty

Dynasty is reigned by powerful queens and Fallon is one of them. Her character is extremely ambitious and determined, and it is beautifully put out by her costume. The trench coat, as seen in the image has experimented with the use of fabric. This fluffy and pristine white number is definitely the one to watch out for. A black undercoat brings out the white texture more vibrantly.

Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl

How could we talk about fashion and power without referring to this character? The invincible Blair Waldorf looked effortless in all of her trench-coat looks throughout the seasons. She had styled the coat with blouse and tights in some occasions, and had also worn it as a dress in other. There was immense versatility in terms of the prints.

Celeste Wright in Big Little Lies

Celeste is a bold and carefree mother of two, who is absolutely capable of turning things in her favour whenever the situation calls for it. The basic trench has been displayed here to shed light on her wealth and how she always dresses to impress. The colour is subtle, and speaks of her age and wisdom!

Mrs. Maisel in Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

If there would have been a 21st century epitome of period fashion, I would gladly give away the title to Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Starting from the colours, to the fits, the occasional monochromes, and deadly colour blocking outfits, everything is perfect in this show. The most unique thing about the above look is that they have taken the skeletal structure of a trench coat and recreated it with shorter sleeves. This solves a huge limitation of getting to wear it only in a certain kind of weather. The detailing with the buttons, adds a dramatic flair to the whole look!
