5 Items in your Wardrobe which are more Sustainable than you knew!

Sustainability can be understood using two dimensions: First, they make use of organic materials/natural fabric, and second is something which can be used for a 'sustainable' amount of time. As conceptual as the idea might sound, it is completely possible if we put our mind into it. Here's how you can practice sustainability with your existing wardrobe, and if you don't have any one of these, you know what to shop next!

1. Basic White Shirt

This item is not only unisex, but something which is a symbol of unity amongst all cultures and styles. It can be moulded and styled in any way you want to and manage to look different every time. This shirt is ready to be defined in any way you want to and that makes it sustainable (also the cotton fabric *giggles*).

2. Your Desi Cotton Skirt

A cotton skirt can be befriended for almost anything, be it wedding functions when paired with a glamorous choli, or for your café date when paired with a tank top and a scarf. You can even style it with a formal shirt and you will be ready for work! If the versatility of this item doesn't make it sustainable then what does?

3. Saree not Sorry

Yes, I know you all must be thinking that with more than a 100 draping styles (50 of them already floating on instagram), the sustainability factor is rather imperative. But that's not the only reason. Sarees have a shelf life of over years and generations which makes it one of the most sustainable products ever created.

4. The Linen Scarf

The art of draping explains it all! Your scarf can be worn as an accessory, headband, top, or the pretty obvious way, around the neck how it was intended to. It has the ability to the the right amount of colour/print to monochrome or solid outfits. It gives you an opportunity to play with not just drapes, but also natural fabrics like cotton and linen.

5. Bole Meri Jutti

Did you know our very own Jutti's are extremely sustainable in terms of its creation as well as craftsmanship. It takes up a considerable part of the future of sustainable footwear and again with increasing variations in terms of designs, it has managed to move beyond festivities, to more casual and work occasions too!
